Unpaid Internships or Observation Rotations

Unpaid Internships for Global Business/Entrepreneurship or Technology Solutions Strands

The intent of the St. Charles County CAPS program is to provide students with the opportunity to gain authentic, hands-on work experience in professional work environments that relate to their academic and career interest, and prepare them for future jobs. The program is also designed to have employers an opportunity to guide and evaluate future talent.

Internships can take a variety of forms including short-stays or project-based, semester-long or summer opportunities. We strive to tailor a program that is mutually beneficial for our business partners and students.  Typically, interns work 2.5 hours, 4 days per week for one semester.

There are many benefits to working in an internship. According to HR.com and Internships.com, seven out of ten internships turn into full-time jobs with the company where students interned.

If you are interested in hosting an unpaid internship, please complete the Internship Request Form.

Clinical Observation Rotations for Healthcare Strand
For our healthcare strand, we partner with Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital, Progress West Hospital, SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital-Lake St. Louis, and SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital-St. Charles for our clinical observation rotations.  This year, we are also looking to partner with non-hospital facilities for our clinical observation rotations.

All of our student associates have been trained in HIPPA and BLS.  They all have also completed the necessary paperwork for the hospital rotations, including a background check, drug test, and 2-Step TB test.

If you would like partner with us for the upcoming observation rotations, starting in late-October/early November, please complete the Healthcare Observation Rotations Form.
